Congratulations to the Grand Prize and First Prize winners of the 2011 Off the Roll Tape Sculpture Contest.

THE BIG ONE
by KENT H.
Oklahoma City, OK

From the wrinkles in the overalls and movement of the hair, down to the rolled jeans and bows in the pigtails, this classic battle is captured with incredible detail.  The force of the catch causes him to nearly lose his hat while his sister pulls with all her strength to keep him from going in. Masterfully crafted of 100% Scotch® Heavy Duty Shipping Premium Packaging Tape, these two models are life size and together create the voiceless tale of "The Big One".

SING AND SCREAM ALONG

by CAMERON N.
Apopka, FL

My sculpture is recreating a scene you would typically see at a live concert show. The moment where every die hard knows the words and is hoping to reach the mic to scream and pour their hearts out as the vocalist passes it to the crowd. There are the typical figures you would normally see at a show. Shoulder hoppers who prop themselves on the people in the front to get to the mic, the guy who just stands with his arms crossed and the bystanders who gladly deal with the abuse.

THE MERMAID MECHANIC, HER CLOCKWORK SEA DRAGON AND THE MISSING WRENCH

by DAVID K.
Indianapolis, IN

While this mermaid may not be the best at singing songs from the deep...she is a wonderful mechanic of mythical creatures sure to bring a surprise to any sailor viewing the likes of her clockwork creations. Unfortunately a lost wrench has made this one inoperable for the time being... an easy fix nonetheless! This sea dragon measures 12 feet long from the tip of its tongue to the end of its tail, while the mermaid is an elegant 7 feet long.

TRIANGULATED TORUS

by MATTHEW B.

13.5 rolls of tape make 1440 triangles, 240 intersections, and 120 rings, forming one 40 inch torus.
